Teach Special Ed CA

The grant goal is to recruit and authorize future teachers of Special Education by providing tuition assistance with completing a degree, obtaining an Education Specialist Credential, clearing an Educational Specialist Credential, or interning in a special education classroom.

Why join this program

California has a growing population of students who need highly qualified teachers with and Education Specialist Credential. The “Grow Our Own” Program assists individuals interested in pursuing an Education Specialist Credential apprenticeship and scholarship opportunities.

This program is tailored to recruit and authorize future teachers of Special Education. The San Luis Obispo County Office of Education is the hub for the “Grow Our Own” Education Specialist Credential Program Grant in partnership with Kern and Ventura counties. Each county is experiencing shortages of teachers in hard to fill categories, such as teachers possessing an Education Specialist Credential serving special education classrooms.

Tuition assistance is available to complete a degree, obtain an Education Specialist Credential, clear an Educational Specialist Credential, or intern in a special education classroom. For additional information, please click the link below and a representative will contact you directly.
